Calcium-Barium-Silicon Alloy is a multifunctional composite alloy composed of calcium, barium, and silicon, with calcium content ranging from 5% to 15%, barium content from 10% to 30%, and silicon content from 45% to 60%. It serves as a key metallurgical additive for deep deoxidation, desulfurization, and effective modification of non-metallic inclusions in the production of high-quality special steels, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. The product offers core advantages such as prolonged vapor-phase action of barium, strong synergistic deoxidation capability of calcium and barium, and significant inclusion spheroidization effects, along with characteristics including moderate melting point, controllable dissolution rate, and uniform composition distribution. It enables the coordinated release of calcium and barium elements and deep modification of inclusions during LF refining, vacuum treatment, and ladle argon stirring processes, significantly improving steel cleanliness, reducing the number of large-sized oxide inclusions, and enhancing the fatigue properties and isotropy of steel.
Produced through vacuum melting and atomization/crushing granulation processes, combined with precise elemental ratio design and surface passivation treatment, the product exhibits low hygroscopicity, high bulk density, and low harmful impurity residues. It effectively reduces fume emissions during refining, prevents nozzle clogging, and promotes the formation of fine, dispersed barium-calcium aluminate inclusions. It is particularly suitable for cutting-edge metallurgical fields with extreme requirements for inclusion morphology and quantity, such as bearing steel, tire cord steel, high-end gear steel, high-temperature alloys for aircraft engines, and corrosion-resistant materials for nuclear power applications.
