HC FeCr (High Carbon Ferrochrome) – The Essential Alloying Ingredient for Stainless Steel and High-Performance Alloys
HC FeCr is a high-carbon ferrochrome alloy with chromium content typically ranging from 60% to 70% and carbon content between 6% and 8%. It serves as a cost-effective, high-yield chromium source for the production of stainless steel, alloy steels, and other corrosion-resistant materials. The product offers excellent chromium recovery, stable composition, and efficient dissolution, making it a fundamental raw material in electric arc furnace (EAF), argon oxygen decarburization (AOD), and converter-based steelmaking processes.
Produced via submerged arc furnace (SAF) smelting using high-grade chromite ore, HC FeCr is characterized by high density, uniform lump size, low phosphorus and sulfur content, and consistent metallurgical performance. It enables reliable chromium addition, supports efficient slag formation, and contributes to improved hardness, wear resistance, and high-temperature strength in finished steel products.
We provide stainless steel mills, specialty steel producers, and foundries with multiple grade specifications (Cr content and C content variants), customized lump/crushed sizes, and full chemical traceability. Supported by technical expertise and a stable supply chain, we are committed to being your trusted partner in achieving optimized alloying efficiency, reduced production costs, and superior product performance.
