Carbon Balls (Slag Forming Agent) – High‑Efficiency Composite Metallurgical Additive for Slag Formation and Foaming

Carbon Balls are spherical composite slag‑forming agents produced by high‑pressure molding using high‑quality metallurgical coke powder, graphite powder, and other carbon‑based raw materials, combined with efficient foaming agents, fluxing aids, and structural enhancers. The product is designed to rapidly form foamy slag, stabilize arc coverage, and achieve efficient submerged‑arc energy saving, with additional features including uniform composition, moderate strength, long‑lasting foaming capability, and environmental friendliness. It enables efficient slag formation, reduced arc radiation, furnace lining protection, and lower power and electrode consumption in electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking.

Manufactured through scientific formulation and cold‑pressing technology, optimized for foaming kinetics and thermal stability, the product exhibits low sulfur and phosphorus impurities, appropriate bulk density, and controllable foaming rate and bubble structure. It effectively enhances slag basicity, improves steel‑slag reaction efficiency, and promotes the removal of harmful elements. It is particularly suitable for short‑process steelmaking applications with stringent requirements for foamy slag practice, such as high‑power EAFs, DC arc furnaces, and specialty alloy smelting.

We provide EAF steel mills and specialty metallurgy enterprises with multiple carbon‑content specifications, customizable particle sizes, and process solutions tailored to different furnace types. We are committed to being your professional partner in improving EAF smelting efficiency, reducing overall energy consumption, and achieving green, low‑carbon production.
